If you looking to impress your lover scrap the conventional card and chocolates and give into spontaneity and indulgence. Spend
Valentine’s Day in an unforgettable setting this year with a uniquely romantic experience. Below are some some wonderful romantic getaways are not too far from Washington.
The Homestead
Beautiful rooms. I stayed in an attachment -- very modern, brick building, not the main building. Nevertheless, the rooms in this attached part of the hotel were beautiful, the grounds were beautiful, the facilities, restaurant -- everything was beautiful. The lobby was spectacular. The attire for around the grounds is rather formal. The cuisine is exquisite.

Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa
I fell in love with the resort about eight years ago and have returned year after year since then. Once again we weren't disappointed. For more luxurious experience I recommend a chateau suite. I have always found the staff at this resort helpful and courteous.

The Greenbrier
I just returned from a four day stay at the Greenbrier. I must say it was the most relaxing atmosphere I have experienced in a long time. The hotel is beautifully maintained, full of history, with gorgeous grounds. The staff was the most courteous I have encountered. Highlights of our stay were the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the golf course, horseback riding, bowling after dinner in one of the restaurants, and just wandering around taking in all the historic features of the hotel. Greenbrier is a fantasyland of good food, beautiful surroundings, pampering, and a wide range of activities. We will return if our budget allows.
