The Pope Branch Park Restoration Alliance, along with the Earth Conservation Corps, Casey Trees and the Sierra Club invites you to join us in our 2nd Annual Park Restoration Day in celebration of the memory of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. One of Dr. King’s most notable quotes:

"Everybody can be great because everybody can serve. You don't have to have college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."

In that spirit, we will be gathering at Pope Branch Park at the junction of Fairlawn Avenue and M Place, SE, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on January 21st in honor of the MLK Day of National Service, to restore the park by cleaning up trash and debris along the tributary and removing invasive plants which threaten its ecological health.

Pope Branch Creek is a key tributary of the Anacostia River within the District of Columbia and the park that surrounds it is a focus for community enjoyment and activities. Restoring the park contributes to the restoration of the Anacostia and the communities that lie along it. We look forward to your joining us in that effort.
