MLK Day Project - Anacostia EcoTour

In partnership with Service for Peace this MLK Jr. Day program will be the launch of this WFH EcoTour designed to raise awareness of projects that enhance the health of the Anacostia Watershed, this Anacostia EcoTour may include a boat ride, bike tour of successful environmental projects and some service activity for the participants; and may also include music, edu-tainment play, food, and a Youth Town Hall Meeting. In inclement weather, tour will be conducted by clean vehicle transportation.

This Mission Includes:

-Connect community leaders and citizens to work together effectively
-Raise awareness, knowledge and behaviors
-Measure Progress and Results

The premiere EcoTours (duplicated numerous times) include the "DC EcoTour - Green Buildings" and the "Annapolis EcoTour." These local EcoTours link together to make up the Grand EcoTour covering the 700 mile Chesapeake Bay Watershed in the fall of 2008 which will include other cities such as: Cooperstown, Wilkes-Barre, Harrisburg, Lancaster, Baltimore, and Virginia Beach.
